This tournament is the top international circuit of alpine skiing and features slalom, giant slalom, super G, downhill, and combined events for both men and women skiers. The competitors are truly the best of the best! Many consider victory in this competition to be more valuable than victory in the Winter Olympics. New Delta Flights
Over the summer, Delta announced its largest-ever ski schedule. The airline will operate a higher frequency or begin new service to a number of popular ski destinations, including Sun Valley! The schedule will have 10% more seat capacity than the last season. Travelers to Sun Valley will be able to enjoy convenient new Saturday service. Getting to the ski slopes will be easier than ever!
Seattle Ridge Chairlift Demolition
The demolition of the Seattle Ridge chairlift began over the summer. This project will make way for a new, six-person detachable replacement set for installation. The upgraded Seattle Ridge lift is expected to open next December. It will continue to service beginner and intermediate terrain network while increasing uphill skier capacity by 20%! We can't wait to try the new lift. You can track its progress here.
Art Grants
The Idaho Commission on the Arts announced it is awarding grants to nearly 100 organizations across Idaho, including some in Sun Valley, like the Sun Valley Museum of Art. This funding is expected to bolster Idaho’s culture and creativity! We are excited to see what the museum will do with this incredible grant.
Fiamma
Fiamma, a brand new restaurant, is being planned by Chefs Britt Rescigno and Kinsey Leodler. The restaurant will be "an 80-seat restaurant with a basement wine cellar, six-seat chef’s kitchen table, bar and general seating." Expect proteins cooked over an open flame, handmade pasta, and lots of local goodies! Fiamma aims to open early next year at 211 Leadville Ave in Ketchum.
