Sun Valley Film Festival

March 11, 2020

Since 2012 the Sun Valley Film Festival has represented creativity, passion, and storytelling. Artists, filmmakers, and storytellers commune year after year to honor the art of filmmaking in a beautiful and serene mountain town. Come celebrate with them and other notable celebrities this March, the 18th through the 22nd.

Films

This year’s Sun Valley Film Festival will include five days of unique films ranging from documentaries about cowboys to dynamic films of drama to tv series on the cosmos. There is something for everyone and something to be celebrated in each. Film showings will take place primarily at The Opera House and Argyros, with special events taking place at the Community Library and Tito’s Handmade Vodka Filmmaker Loft. You can find a full schedule of events at their website.

Panels and Discussions

Learn from the creators in one of SVFF’s Salon moments (Thursday through Saturday 11:30am) or at a coffee talk (Friday through Sunday 10-11am). The Salon will take place at the National Geographic HQ and will feature a unique speaker each day. Begin Thursdays talk by Ryan Ozturk, a passionate climber and visionary photojournalist speaking of Lost on Everest; a film focused on the disappearance of two famed climbers on Mount Everest in 1924. On Saturday, be inspired by creator, producer, writer, and director of COSMOS; Ann Dryuan. Coffee Talks will also be taking  place for three days and go in depth to the journey of creative careers for three talented artists in their fields.

Parties

Three nights of live music at Whiskey Jaques. Get the party started Thursday night with El Stash and DJ Loco, open to the public with free beers to pass holders! Friday has in store a bonfire presented by Ford, followed by some feel good tunes by the Kris Lager Band (presented by Variety). And, to wrap up the parties, a must see SVFF Awards Bash will take place Saturday night with a performance by the Indie rock band, The Unlikely Canidates.

This festival has been cancelled for 2020, we look forward to seeing you all in 2021! If you have already purchased a ticket for this year, it will remain valid for next year.
