Beyond the beautiful mountains that attract hundreds of visitors to Sun Valley every year, the town also hosts a multitude of arts and culture. From the many local artists that reside in Sun Valley to the talent that comes forth at the galleries and festivals; Sun Valley is true to capture your artistic side.
This summer, Sun Valley celebrates the 51st edition of the Sun Valley Arts & Crafts Festival August 9 - 12. The lively scene in downtown Ketchum at Atkinson Park brings over 130 professional artists and craftsmen/women from all over the country to display their work. Note this is not just any arts and crafts festival, it is distinctively known as a fine arts and crafts show that is complete free. Bonus, it is also open to the public. The festival is outdoors and is juried for the talent.
Come with open eyes ready to indulge in a variety of artistic platforms and festivities. There are artist demonstrations to get a glimpse of how the art is created. Join in the fun with live music and beautiful views of the Wood River Valley. Food trucks are placed throughout for everyone to have their pick at any flavor they wish. Bring the whole family, as there is also a kids activity area.
While the festival has a rigorous jury process to select artists and craftspeople to exhibit their fine work, it ensures attendees will see exceptional work in all categories. The Arts & Craft festival has also been ranked in the Art Fair SourceBook as #4 in the country for Fine Crafts sales in 2018, as well as #20 in the country for Fine Art Sales.
