February Brings Snow to Sun Valley

February 24, 2021

February 2021 has started off with a bang! With tons of fresh snowfall, this is looking like the perfect time to head to Sun Valley and hit the slopes.

At the end of January, Sun Valley was slammed by a serious of big snow storm. Two feet of snow fell across the resorts, creating prime skiing conditions. Since then, sporadic snowfall has added to the already dramatic winter landscape. As OpenSnow shows, Sun Valley has seen about a foot of snow over the course of February.

If you're planning on traveling to Sun Valley and are interested in back country skiing, then you should make sure that you keep track of the avalanche warnings. While resort skiing is currently perfect because it is well-maintained and protected, backcountry skiing has recently been hazardous. Do your research before heading off of resort property to ski.

On top of the current blanket of snow, OpenSnow predicts that the next ten days will bring 14 inches of snowfall. This means that March bodes extremely well for skiers looking to tackle some winter runs.
